CANADA RISES TO SECOND IN BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD RANKING!
U.S. News & World Report published the “2023 Best Countries” global ranking of countries in the world, and Canada came in second overall, behind Switzerland. Last year, we ranked third, so this is a significant step up. These rankings are determined by WPP (a global marketing and communications services company) and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. They surveyed more than 17,000 people from 36 countries and based rankings on the categories adventure, agility, cultural influence, entrepreneurship, heritage, movers, open for business, power, quality of life, and social purpose.
For each category, they ranked the top 20 countries. Canada ranked second for Agility, or being progressive, adaptable and responsive to obstacles. We were third in Quality of Life for having a good job market, being economically stable and family friendly. We came fourth in Social Purpose because we care about rights, the environment, religious, gender equality, etc. And Canada ranked 5th in Entrepreneurship, because we are connected on a global scale, have a skilled labour force, an educated population and physical and digital infrastructure.
In addition, the 2023 list ranks the countries that are considered the “Best for…” and Canada ranked in the top seven in several qualities. These include being the second-best for starting a career, racial equality and headquartering a corporation. When it comes to education, Canada ranked fourth, as well as seventh for studying abroad. Great news for families: Canada is ranked the seventh-best country in the world for raising children, and the sixth-best for comfortable retirement! It is understandable why Canada is so attractive to immigrants of all ages. Read more about this world ranking at www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/rankings
