The July statistics are in from RealNet Canada Inc., and BILD reports that GTA new home sales were up 36 per cent in July, which is wonderful news across the board. And once again, high-rise condo sales topped the 2010 stats for that month – to the tune of a 20 per cent jump! In particular, high-rise sales took huge leaps in Halton and York Regions, which is more evidence of how the condominium lifestyle is catching on in our 905 areas. July sales were up significantly in Toronto as well.

These numbers come hot on the heels of June, when the sales of new-build condos rose 62 per cent over 2010 and brought the sales of high-rise condominium suites up 39 per cent over the first half of 2010. And of course, in May, we had the best-ever sales for that month!

It’s all so exciting, and just goes to show that consumers have faith in our new home industry. Judging from the number of new condominiums coming on board at Baker Real Estate this fall and the overwhelming interest we continually receive for those on sale right now, this trend still has a long way to go.

It looks as though we will head into the fall season on a high note. The momentum just keeps on going.
